Captioning 101

Over 26 million Americans, nearly 9% of us, have some form of hearing loss, ranging from a slight impairment to complete deafness.

Visual Audio Captioning can deliver your message to this growing audience through our full range of closed-captioning and subtitling services.

Beyond their importance for viewers who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, captions are also used by people learning to read, learning English as a second language, or in noisy public environments such as airports, restaurants, retail establishments, and health clubs.

The growing movement toward greater media accessibility, along with FCC requirements, the Americans With Disabilities Act, and Section 508, has made captioning a fundamental component of every television program and multimedia presentation.
